AC Compressor
Your AC compressor is the main pump in your car’s air conditioning system. It pressurizes the refrigerant and keeps it moving. This allows the system to pull heat from the cabin and send cold air through the vents. An AC compressor pressurizes refrigerant and moves it through the condenser, evaporator, and AC lines so your cabin can receive cold air. When it fails, the AC may blow warm air, make grinding or squealing noises, or stop engaging the compressor clutch. In Aventura, hot, humid coastal weather makes this part work hard. Stop-and-go traffic, heavy rain, and salt air add heat, moisture, and corrosion risk to AC fittings, belts, and seals. European cars traveling between US-1 and I-95, as well as nearby beach communities, need strong AC performance year-round. If the system has low refrigerant, a worn pulley, or internal compressor damage, it may need careful testing before any part is replaced. A compressor replacement is not a quick guess. A technician must inspect the AC system, recover the refrigerant, remove the old unit, and install the new compressor. Then, he must check for leaks and complete an AC system recharge with the correct amount of refrigerant.
